Juniper was a beautiful little Black kitty, who was owned by the people next door. They never let him indoors, and left him ouside all the time. He started coming over to visit, and many mornings he would see me off to work. he was very gentle and kind, with cute green cross eyes. Today as I was driving to work, I saw in front of me on the road his flailing body, as he must have just been hit by a car. His beautiful little face was crushed, and I knew I would never see his cute little cross eyes again, until I see him in Heaven. I could not leave him there, so I picked him up and brought him to his house. His owner, whoi had been sleeping comfortably in her bed, did not even take him inside. I left him on the porch, and told her I would miss him coming to see me every morning, and that she should not have pets.I will never forget this little guy. In the short time I got to know him I loved him, and I believe he knew love at my hand. I was glad to have lifted him from the street; he was still warm, and I will always remember his warmth, and pity the poor human who rejected that warmth out of selfish laziness.
Now, I never knew the name his rejector gave him, but I chose Juniper for him because brother Juniper was a "special needs" monk whom St. Francis Loved.
Juniper, I loved you, and still love you. I have asked St. Francis to look after you, and also my two kitties in Heaven, Stanley and Molly. You will enjoy playing with them!!
